Environment Policy Network
Our Mission
The Environment Policy Network (EPN) is committed to protecting and restoring Australia's natural environment, including tackling climate change, while keeping local communities and working people at the centre of the solutions we design.
We believe well-designed policy can support communities and their economic wellbeing, while shifting our economy away from practices that damage nature and the climate.
We work with community groups, research bodies and other organisations to inform decision-makers and build support for change.
We endeavour to foster the exchange of ideas between environmental and community-focused thinking.
EPN develops environmental policy solutions grounded in a clear understanding of the practical and legislative context they need to work within.
We track where the windows for reform are open, shaping bold, evidence-based policy that serves climate, environment and communities — and we work with decision-makers to see it delivered.
EPN is committed to building a deeper, shared understanding of environment and climate issues among the community and decision-makers.
We publish plain-language briefings and explainers on major reforms — so people can see the trade-offs and the local stakes clearly, wherever they sit.
EPN is committed to seeing its policy work create real change in the world. We do this by connecting, collaborating and educating — building coalitions around practical, community-led solutions.
We foster strong relationships with community groups, environmental organisations and industry, and work with decision-makers across government to deliver change.
